Generator Protection Principle

The generator, the highest and most essential source of electricity in a power plant, is the most fiercely protected of all the other devices that compete all day long to get it going. Let's take a look.

 

1. Shutdown: disconnect the circuit breaker of generator or generator transformer group (generator transformer group), demagnetization, close the main valve or water guide vane of the prime mover, and disconnect the factory branch circuit breaker;

 

2. Disassembly demagnetization: disconnect generator or generator circuit breaker and factory branch circuit breaker, demagnetization, prime mover load rejection;

 

3. Disassembly: disconnect generator or generator circuit breaker, load rejection of prime mover;

 

4. Reduce excitation;

 

5. Output reduction: reduce the output of the prime mover to a given value;

 

6. Reduce the fault range (such as disconnecting the bus or block circuit breaker);

 

7. Program trip: generally applied to turbo-generator, the main valve is closed first, after the reverse power relay operation to disconnect the generator or generator - transformer circuit breaker and demagnetization;

 

8. Switch the power supply: switch the power supply from the power supply to the standby power supply;

 

9. Signal: sends out an acoustooptic signal.
