As a near-net forming technology for manufacturing high-quality precision parts, MIM technology has incomparable advantages over conventional powder metallurgy, machining and precision casting methods.

1. The raw material powder used is usually in the range of 1-20 micron, and the shrinkage rate of the size from the injected embryo to the sintered embryo can reach about 16%-20% depending on the material;

2. Able to produce small metal parts with complex shapes (usually 0.1-200g in size) as well as plastic products;

3, parts of the production of uniform organization, good density, density can reach the theoretical density of 95-99%, can be carburized, quenching, tempering and other heat treatment, some size precision requirements can be used for mechanical processing;

4. The product size accuracy can reach +/-0.1~0.5%, the surface is smooth and clean, and the one-time can reach Ra1.6;

7. MIM parts usually do not need to be processed by vertical injection molding again unless there are special requirements. For materials such as tungsten alloy, cemented carbide and other machining difficulties, MIM process has an inherent advantage. It can be applied to stainless steel, soft magnetic alloy, iron and nickel material, tungsten alloy, hard quality retention money and tool steel, special purpose alloy. MIM parts can also be hardened, such as nickel plating, hard chromium plating and other surface treatment process can be used.
