Features:Lock transmission parts are essential for a smart lock. MIM process can not only save material, but also time and cost. In order to make high quality MIM parts, choosing and mix material is quite important.


What is the ideal MIM metal powder?

Powder particle size, tap density, and particle shape are key performance parameters that determine whether a powder can be successfully used in MIM processes. MIM process requires very fine raw material powder (~ 10μm), in order to ensure uniform dispersion, good rheological properties and a large sintering rate. The ideal MIM powder is: powder particle size 2 ~ 8μm; bulk density of 40% ~ 50%; tap density of 50% or more; powder particles near spherical, larger than the surface.


MIM technology can make various kinds of metal parts. If your part is made of stainless steel, steel, iron and the shape is complex, MIM is the best choice. If you want to make metal components by MIM, you need to send us the parts drawings, including PDF and 3D files in which, we can see the shape, sizes, tolerance and other requirements such as surface treatment, hardness(HRC). Also, we need to know the quantity for the part. Because to make MIM items, the mold is important. To make a mold is around 3000--5500USD that based on the shape, so if the customer have several parts to produce, we suggest to put them in one mold to save cost.
