How the MIM process works

The preparation of raw materials for the MIM process is usually a mixture of metal powders, first based on the desired alloy composition. The wax and the polymer are then combined with the additive of the polymer and the additive mixed with the powder and then heated into a viscous substance. After gradually cooling down, processed into granular particles as raw materials.

The degreasing process requires the removal of the binding additive press-sintering conditions, the use of a continuous catalytic degreasing process, and the constant transformation of the binder as a component of the gas, resulting in an open pore structure known as "brown" compact.

In the "brown" billet heating controlled atmosphere in this step, the temperature is raised to complete the alloying and metallurgical bonding. Significant shrinkage resulting in a density approaching 98% of the theoretical density for a given alloy product. The operating conditions during the sintering process are carefully controlled to achieve the required size and performance requirements.
