The raw materials used in forging are ingot casting, rolling, extruding and forging blank. Rolled, extruded and forged billets are semi-finished products of ingot through rolling, extrusion and forging respectively. In general, the appearance of internal or surface defects in ingots is sometimes unavoidable. In addition to the forging process in the forging process improper, resulting in the final forging defects. Some common defects in forgings are briefly described below.
