Die Polishing MIM Tooling Precise Die Manufacturer

Mold is the mother of industry. Die technology, to a large extent, determines the cost, quality and yield of products and even functional characteristics. Metal powder injection moulds are the basic components of MIM process. The main structure of metal injection moulds (commonly known as MIM moulds) is roughly the same as that of traditional plastic moulds. They are composed of three parts: casting system, forming parts and structural parts. Among them, the pouring system and forming parts are the parts directly contacted with the feed of filling die, which are the parts of the die which require high processing smoothness and precision.

1. Gating system: refers to the runner part of molten material before entering the cavity from the nozzle, including the main runner, cold hole, diversion runner and gate, etc. Mainstream channel refers to a passage from nozzle to distributor or cavity, usually conical, concave at the top, so as to connect with nozzle; cold material hole is a hole at the end of main channel, which is used to cover the cold material produced between two injections at the end of nozzle to prevent blockage of distributor and gate; distributor is the passage between main channel and gate, usually used for multi-cavity mould. The gate is the connection point between the runner and the cavity. The molten material enters the cavity through the gate to form.


2. Formed parts: refers to the various parts that constitute the shape of the product, including movable die, die setting and cavity, core, forming rod and exhaust port, etc. The movable die is installed on the movable template of the injection machine, and the fixed die is installed on the fixed template of the injection machine. When working, the movable die and the fixed die are closed, and the core and the parting cavity form the cavity of the mould. The exhaust port is a groove-shaped outlet opened in the die for discharging the gas brought in by the melt.


3. Structural parts include guide, demoulding, core pulling and parting parts, such as front and rear button formwork, pressure plate, guide column, demoulding formwork, demoulding rod, etc. Guiding parts are to ensure that the moving die and the fixed die can be accurately aligned in the die. Guiding parts must be set up in the die for positioning; demoulding parts are used for pushing out the formed parts and resetting; some products with more complex shapes usually need to design the core, which can be removed smoothly after the core is pulled out.


In recent years, with the rapid development of MIM technology in China, many traditional plastic mold manufacturers have begun to turn to make MIM molds. In a sense, MIM molds have been developed by leaps and bounds. But the product application scope is more and more extensive, and the requirements are higher and higher. The manufacturing and design process of MIM mould must be constantly improved to meet the needs of product development.
