On the other hand, stainless steel has better looks than iron, but those parts are inside, so they do not need it. Iron parts have high stress test, high resistance to friction and wear. Which high mechanical properties are more fit for military.

Besides these difference, iron and stainless steel have the following different characteristics: As to the hardness, stainless steel is about 40 degrees HRC. The hardness of ordinary iron and steel is about 10-15 degrees HRC. So stainless steel is much harder. As to components, Iron is single element, while stainless steel is mixed with alloying elements. Stainless steel is better than iron in aspects of mechanical property, corrosion resistance, tensile hardness, etc. The price is more expensive than iron, and most stainless steel has no magnetism but iron is magnetic.

MIM technology can make various kinds of metal parts. If your part is made of stainless steel, steel, iron and the shape is complex, MIM is the best choice. If you want to make metal components by MIM, you need to send us the parts drawings, including PDF and 3D files in which, we can see the shape, sizes, tolerance and other requirements such as surface treatment, hardness(HRC). Also, we need to know the quantity for the part. Because to make MIM items, the mold is important. To make a mold is around 3000--5500USD that based on the shape, so if the customer have several parts to produce, we suggest to put them in one mold to save cost.
