Tolerance requirements are strict and complex details need to be paid special attention to. Higher tolerance accuracy, no flash, super high surface quality, all these standards are some of the requirements that must be met in the manufacturing process of die casting die for metal parts.

 

Holes and grooves, in addition to reducing the quality of parts and forming a thick wall, are also a useful functional structural feature of MIM parts, and generally do not increase the price of parts.

 

However, increasing the hole and groove will increase the complexity of the mold.  It is necessary to increase the die cost. The holes perpendicular to the parting line are most easily formed and the cost is the lowest. Holes parallel to the parting line, though easy to form, need to add sliders or hydraulic cylinders, which will increase the cost of pre-mold manufacturing.

 

Internal connecting holes can be formed. This design must be carefully considered in order to prevent problems of sealing and burring.

 

If possible, a hole should be made into a D hole to make a plane on the core, so as to enhance the seal of the mold, otherwise the arc surface should be made with the parts, and the thin edge will produce abnormal wear.

 

MIM technology can make various kinds of metal parts. If your part is made of stainless steel, steel, iron and the shape is complex, MIM is the best choice. If you want to make metal components by MIM, you need to send us the parts drawings, including PDF and 3D files in which, we can see the shape, sizes, tolerance and other requirements such as surface treatment, hardness(HRC). Also, we need to know the quantity for the part. Because to make MIM items, the mold is important. To make a mold is around 3000--5500USD that based on the shape, so if the customer have several parts to produce, we suggest to put them in one mold to save cost.
